Same keywords. Same bids. This campaign was spending 10$ a day making me some profit. With the new destination URL, my keywords are "enabled", getting no impressions or clicks?
If you changed the landing page, you have to make sure the domain matches the display domain. If the domains are different, then Google is not allowing your ad. If you were making profits before, why did you change? I would go back to the way it was. Google adwords continues to put walls in front of its advertisers, Making it harder and harder to use Google as a viable PPC alternative.
One of the golden rules of affiliate marketing with ppc is if it's working, don't touch it. You can scale it up if you want, but don't touch the stuff that is making you a profit. Yes it's tempting to try to squeeze another 5% roi out of a working adgroup or keyword, but in the long run, you WILL mess up your campaigns more often then not. That I can guarantee as I've seen it happen a million times.
But its the same in both. Except in the destination url, it has some numbers at the end, which is my hoplink. ? I changed this because i thought i could make more profit this way.
chini - from Adwords help: Your ads will be approved if the URL of your landing page domain matches that of your Display URL domain. For example, the following would be acceptable: * Display URL: www.google.com/adwords * Destination URL: www.trackingurl.com/google123 * Landing page URL: www.google.com However, this example would be unacceptable: * Display URL: www.google.com/adwords * Destination URL: www.trackingurl.com/google123 * Landing page URL: www.trackingurl.com hope that helps
Bit confused: So the url you will be displaying in your add from your first example is www.google.com/adwords, but then when someone clicks on this they will be re-directed to your web site which is www.trackingurl.com/google123 Wouldn't that be your landing URL instead of www.google.com?
Dootch is correct as he/she has gotten that information directly from the Adwords Help section. The Landing Page is the page the visitor finally lands on once the redirecting has stopped. This is in place for places like ClickBank when you have to go from Adwords to their system for tracking/affiliate purposes then to the product page itself. Where ever the visitor stops after all the redirecting, this is the URL that has to be specified for Display URL. Adwords Help Section has a ton of information in there and will answer pretty much any generic questions. Great forums such as this one is also an invaluable tool.
But my landing page and destination url are the same, except for a few hoplink numbers at the end of the destination url, so it tracks my conversions?
The landing page and the Display URL have to be the same domain name. The Destination URL can be what ever you want so long as that the user is automatically redirected to a landing page with the same domain name as the display url. Are there any error or warning messages in your Campaign Summary, Ad Group Summary, Ad Group Details, or Billing Summary?
I just checked and the destination url is different. Its totally different, like goes to another tracking site. Should i just get the advertiser to give me like a different but similar destination url, could they do that?
you have to use that tracking site URL or start sending visitors to your own url which you can then send them to an on page offer that directs traffic to the advertisers page.
Yeh i just changed it than. Im gonna go back to sending the traffic to my landing pages. I mean they were converting well enough so i shouldn't get to greedy i guess.
