Change the ads placement frequently

Hi I want to know, do you change your ads placement frequently? Because I feel there are many problems with my adsense earning when I do not change the ads placement every one week. i.e.: my CTR is around 1.8%-2% but after 5-6 days, it will go down to around 0.8%-1%. I always changed my ads placement if this is happening and the next day my earning will be boosted again. If not, then it will remained 0.8%-1%.....is this happening only to me?

so all of your visitors are from search engine only? There is no returned visitors? Because I have many of them and usually they will get "bored" with my adsense ads.

Are you sure that changing the position is best for the site if you have a lot of returning visitors? Sure they might click more, but that doesn't mean they convert more. I would suggest doing as Tearabite does.

so what's the suggestion? I give you an example about my problem...
Week I: day 1-5, I got around 1.8-2% CTR. Then in day 6 and 7, my CTR is only 0.8-1%.
Week II: I changed the ads placement and colour. Day 1-5, I also got around 1.9-2.1% CTR, but in day 6 and 7, my CTR is dropped to 0.6-0.9%.
Same goes to week III, week IV, etc.

Now how to fix this problem?

Well in the log run changing ad position will not do any good, But instead you have to find that perfect spot on your pages, where the ad will take your visitors attention. While at the same time you have to go for the biggest ad formats, Just take your self as the visitor, what would attract your attention when you go to a site..? Is it the 468 x 60 or is it the sky scrapers or Is the Big Box Ads. For me its the Big box and the sky scrapers, so im using them mostly along with horizontal link units.

And you should work on the traffic and get more and more of it :)

ok, can tell me how much your average CTR in the last 3 months so I know that you can earn consistently with adsense...

One more, please share some tips about the ads placement (i.e.: below the title) and the colours. My website background is white and I blend the box colour into white, does it good or I should show the box around the text?

Thanks for the idea. I have an arcade site which does not get very many clicks, I am going to add background color to adsense to match my site right now and see if it helps.

wokaka, I think I know what the problem is. I have a few suggestions. On your football site, make the color of your adsense links the same as the site links. Your adsense colors are blue but your site links are green. Take out the white border from the ads on left side. This should blend ads with your site.

I'm having the same problem. Even thou my ads blended-in with my site but my CTR is < 1%. Maybe some have some suggestions for me?

No. You don't understand. In last month I ever blended the ads text colour with my content. Yes, it gave me a 2% CTR for a while, but like I told you earlier, in the sixth or seventh day, it dropped significantly to only around 0.8-0.9% CTR. I changed the ads colour since then...today my CTR until now is still 0.55%. Man, I need to change the ads colour and placement again? Until when....

*P.S.: is this connected with my visitors? 50% of my visitors are people who typed my website address directly. 30% from Google, and the last 20% from the other sites.

To be honest with you i'm struggling with the same thing. I change the position of adsense the ctr goes up to over 1% and then few days later it drops down to <1%.

The ads on my site are not very relevant to what user be clicking on. However the ads on your site are very close to your content. Have you tried putting a square ad block right after a new story. For example, on the premiership page, put an 200x200 ad block right after your news paragraph and right before the "[click here to read more]". Oh and try the color red. Let this combo run for a week or so and watch the results.

Okay then. I never tried that but I will try. However, I don't think my ads are 100% relevant, maybe only 50% ads are showing relevant results. The other 50% is about travel or even lighting. Sux...

*P.S.: I have changed the ads placement 5 hours ago. At that moment my CTR even only around 0.5%.

Please someone help me. Sigh...I wonder how to monetize my website properly.
