I'm trying to work out how to enable the WYSIWIG editor on a text field in the Wordpress admin. The specific field I am referring to, is in the Users section of Wordpress 2.6. It is the "Biographical Information" field in "Your profile" tab. The reason I want to make this a WYSIWIG editor, is so that authors can create a full bio about themselves, including pictures, hyperlinks etc on the authors pages, for example, this one http://www.helloelbow.com/author/waterloo/ NB: The Your Profile field does not usually allow for HTML either as part of the standard install, but I found a hack to fix that... so I can insert raw HTML into the field, just not with a WYSIWIG editor....yet!
you want textarea editor in javascript? This might help http://corpocrat.com/2008/12/18/free-wysiwyg-textarea-html-editor/ (my editor) http://www.free-php-editor.com/wysiwyg_html_editors.php There are plenty of open source editors there including tinymce and each own have their own problem like slow loading, html popup windows etc..
