    Hi guys,

I have a 4 year old webmaster site and now, I wish to change the whole site by first wipe out the whole site and then reinstall a new vbulletin forum

What do you think is the impact on this strategy?

    Hi Toby,

The impact can be as follows...

1> Immediately you will start losing traffic which are coming from your old pages.

2> Your old pages will lose ranking from search engines, because they will not be available.

3> Your new site / forum will take some time to rank & gain traffic from search engines.

    Measures you can take...

1> Setup 404 Custom Error Page, so the traffic coming from old pages will get redirected to the new home page.

2> Optimize your important sections with main keywords.

3> Once your new site goes live submit in major search engines and related directories. So quickly you will start getting ranking.

These are some few points are coming in my mind.
    Hope this is helpful :)

    Cheers...!!!
