change receipt format

Is there a way to change the receipt format from .dat to .doc, .txt, or .html? When our customers complete the online signup process they are receiving a receipt file they cannot open because of the format. I did not see any settings for this in the Receipt Setup on Web Interface Setup preferences.

The emailed receipt is always text based.

Why are our online signup customers being sent a .dat file?

Do you run more than one company in your Optigold setup? Are they getting it via email or in their browser?

We have two different companies set up. The online signup customers are receiving this receipt.dat file in their e-mail.

Do you have a receipt defined for both companies? It sounds like it's trying to send a blank receipt for whatever reason.

That is what it seems like to me too, since the file sent via e-mail doesn't have any information in it. How would I set up a seperate receipt for each company? I do not see this option in Optigold's preferences.

It's under Maintenance & Preferences -> General Preferences -> More (the multi-company config screen)

Thanks, Shawn. Now how do I create a new receipt for this new company? I only see the option for one receipt in the Receipt Setup preferences.

You would want to copy/paste it into the field on the More screen.
