Hi, I am having a fun related website which ranked well in SERP for a particular keyphrase. It ranked in 5th position for targeted keyword. I have nearly 4,000 backlinks for my website(PR4). In that i have inlinks of nearly 2500 from 3 websites(which i own and have a good PR) where i had a specific anchor text of my targeted keyword. Now i have changed the anchor text for all the 3 websites targeting for more keywords. Now after the change i could not find my website well ranked in SERP. I couldn't find in the first 100 result for my previous keyword too. But i can see my website when i give site:mywebsite in google. Why is this so?
Hi,anchor text is a part of seo process which helps us to paste our text on some others site.By that people read our text and visit our site.According to our needs we can change our text if site allows that.
Its good to avoid changing the anchor text of a keyword when you're already ranked well for it. You may have got a better keyword to target, but removal of 2500 links at a time is a big blow for the offpage seo of that site. I suggest you start your linkbuilding process again, try article marketing+Social Bookmarking + RSS Feed submission for a change.
We can use keyword as anchor text. When we get lot of back links with that anchor text it definitely useful for increasing ranking. We can change it any time but that will affect your site ranking.
Anchor text backlinks are more precious than that of URL based backlinks. You have axed on your own leg. As you are owing those 3 websites to what you can do is : 1. Add new pages along with the previous one in all 3 websites 2. Make fresh content for those pages 3. Put you keyword(which is not even in 100) within the content of those pages. 4. Make then anchored with your target url.
Thanks for your replies...... Ok What happens when i change it again and target for only one keyword?
you should watch out where your getting you backlinks from, just by changing them up for a short amount of time shouldnt really effect your rankings unless your backlinks are weak tytpical blogs etc
2500 backli nks from 3 domains - mostly ignored. Getting loads of backlinks from one site is mostly counter-productive. At best 97% of them are ignored. At worst, it looks like a deliberate spam policy and 100% are ignored
I don't agree with you. some of them are ignored but most of them help. Thats my personal experience. I have sites on rank 1 in G with alot of links from same site. and they show up in my webmasters tool also.
