What were your terms at signup? Did you reserve the right to cancel at any time? If so, they agreed with it, so if you give a month notice you should be fine
To be frank--I was a rank newbie at that time. So never bothered. Anyway --I'll be getting all the feedbacks -and make a decision accordingly. One thing is sure though-- I'll never do something that would let my name on that dreaded QBC site of ! Ask ! kidding But yeah-- I'll keep them as long as they like to advertise. In the meantime-- I must get a TOS page ready.
Yes, but I subscribed to idk.in when it was new and paid $20 per month expecting to be locked into that price as its value increased. Syed didn't say, "hey, it's not worth that much yet, just start with $5" Also the sitewides started at 3 and then began creeping... Probably many of us don't really think about it at the beginning and we just 'make it up as we go along', but after seeing what can happen I think the best thing is to decide how many sitewides, tell advertisers, and don't increase it, and that the price should stay the same for the duration of the subscription.
As your advertisers help you at the beginning not knowing if it was a good investment, but trusted you anyway, I think you should give them at least a few years extra as a "thank you". Just because you directory is much better now, doesn't mean you can turn your back on your advertisers and charge more or start doing crazy things. You might have a new directory, but people will know how you treated them before and will respect and trust you. Whatever you do be very thoughtful of them!!!
Well my subscription just got canceled by Pak Directory without any notice, even though their TOS says there will be prior notice. So these things happen all the time. I guess we just have to live with it...
i think keeping one month at the old prize for ur current advertisers should be enough. but maybe you should make them feel u appreciate they have been there from the beginning and i think it could be a good idea to give them a special prize newcomers wont have .. ppl like to feel specially treated even if it is not a big money difference
To OP If you work for an employer for three years don't you expect a raise? To think you could simply offer the same rates forever is unrealistic. If your current advertisers don't particularly like your new pricing, the world wont stop revolving for either of you. Increased costs is just a fact of life...
