I've had a real problem in getting yahoo to update my payment address. I changed the address months ago but they keep sending it to the old address. After several phone calls and promises to get it corrected, I was finally told that the department that cuts the checks doesn't get updated when you change your address and that they have been working on fixing it for the last three months and that my problem is not unique. I was just told that the solution is to make sure you update the tax information address or the change won't go through. The tax information screen shows blank after you enter in your address so you can't see what you have entered each time. Make sure you change the address in BOTH places - and I has been assured this will work FWIW.
Well i have the same problem i recently moved and did't want to change the addres because i don't want problems of checks getting lost and stuff like that but i have a question if i change it now does it take affect for April's check?
Well, according to Yahoo, they have solved their problems. You should ask them about their time frame, via their contact form (so you have a written copy of their reply) but they have been telling me for months that the address change was completed - when it wasn't - and I put in for the change last year.
Yep, the service is there, but it lasts for one year then terminates, so it's best to not use it as a crutch (writing from experience ). As always, IMO. AmCy
Now I used the automatic system online provided by them back in January when I moved into my new house. It showed on their system on my YPN account and with them and have had no issue myself. I called them to verify the change showed on their end and it did. I received my check with no issue at beginning of March. I think that their system glitches still and the info is not transferred through out their system as you would think it would. I am glad I did not have the issue you have had.
YPN called last Friday and said they were calling everyone who was having address changes issues. He said it was a real problem because everything on their screen shows correctly, but that a software bug wasn't updating the information in accounting. They were going to manually enter the information into the accounting side until they can solve the software issue. It would appear that they are finally taking steps to see that addresses are corrected. I still haven't received my last check. Even though they know they sent it to the wrong address, they require a 10 business day wait before they can start the process of issuing a replacement check. This process takes another 10 business days and then the new check will be sent out. The whole issue was complicated by the fact that they have a policy of not letting publishers talk to anyone in accounting to see what address they have on file - and that the Publisher Division doesn't have access to the screens their accounting division uses.
Well people are saying that when you change your address you should update your tax information so the address change can take affect.
