Your site's ranking drop may be due to Yahoo and Bing merge. Check yahoo backlinks for your site and competitor sites. Continue link exchange.

Yahoo is using BING as a medium - go to BING and check where you are and that will be your rank on Y! soon

It seems yahoo results and Bing results are now the same so they changed their algorithm to match Bing's.

It's not merged yet. For a certain search term phrase I am ranked 1 in Google, 11 in Yahoo and 6 in Bing. This discrepancy shows that the SE's don't share common ground just yet. That merge isn't supposed to happen until October fyi.

Thanks for the info on Yahoo and Bing merge. That is definitely good news for some of my sites. I'll place some of my findings in this thread soon.

Yahoo! is currently testing with Bing powering their results. A certain percentage of the results today are actually coming from the Bing engine. An email went out to this affect to all of Yahoo!'s major advertisers a couple of weeks ago and stated that if the testing went well, they should be completely switched over in the October/September'ish time frame.

wow, so what does this merge mean, will bing and yahoo return identical search results? If so, then there will truely only be 2 big search engines out there.

    social-media is right...
Yahoo is testing using bing's results, so your ranking may be the same as on bing, or may not...
but long term, yahoo will switch to bing, so there will only be google and bing. I wouldn't spend any effort looking at your yahoo results since so they won't matter anyway.

I hope they take Bing's listing because I list 15th in Bing for my main keyword and 69th in Yahoo. Much easier to get on top page that way.

It can be expected as every SE is giving their SE Algos a tweek every now and then. But it could also be result of the recent merge between the SE Bing and Yahoo.

    hello
I think that if yahoo announces that yahoo update its algorithms or its index .Some people is happy and some of these are not happy because some are prefer working with older version but if those people are happy because those are willing to learn about the new technology
