Change in short keyword serp but not longtail

    Why would my SERP for keyword 'promotional products' drop 300 positions, but longertail terms like 'rush promotional products' not drop. Am I building links to fast with first term? Can I have been hacked or had a competitor stir up trouble with Google?

    Its hards to rank for short keywords than long one.

    if your rankings were recent only. Then you are not getting back on top soon. Sometimes sites with no backlinks get better rankings but drop soon
