    Hey helpers,

Please help me. I used to promote CJ affilate links thru adwords. Acc. to new adwords policy, the destination and display url should be same. :(

Before, I use to enter anything in the display URL. Now this will not work.

Usually, CJ affiliate links are like jodysq.com/click233244-32423 which got to a domain.com

So, should I enter jodysq.com/click233244-32423 in display as well as destination url ???

Help please. Before I used to run multiple adwords accounts :D

You will have to build your own landing pages?

it says the FINAL page must match your display url. Thus, redirects dont count.

If you are promoting RedBallz.com via a affiliate link BlaBla.Pub.You.Hop.Com, you have to write RedBallz.com as the display url. You dont need to write BlaBla.Pub.You.Hop.Com, but you cant write BlueBallz.com or BallzReviwed.com as the display url. Understand?

Psychicboy. You are confused :) google wants display url and landing page url to be the same. Landing page url is different from the destination url that we specify in an adwords ad. Note that the links that commission junction gives you are to be put in the destination box which when clicked lead to the landing page which is the same as display url.

One strategy is to build your own network of landing pages but you have to work a little bit

Well some people will promote lets say hotels at a site named PlacesToStay.com but to add more relevance they will put "HotelsToStay.com" in the ad display.

And if CJ doesnt want you to display the landing page's url, then i really dont understand why.

Nope you're screwed now. You have to make the display url match the final landing page after any redirects you use for tracking. It sucks but that moron who gamed the ringtones ads for so long for this lovely new pain in the arse.

Awhile back a guy, (or group of guys), were completely dominating the ringtones ads on adwords. They were using completely fake display urls and found some loophole in the system or used vouchers or who knows what to completely dominate the first page of results for very high traffic terms like "free ringtones". Google ended up dedicating a team to the ringtone niche to manually approve every single new ad and they were very particular. But this guy or group forced google to actually enforce a previously very lax rule.

I got this from "AdWords Help Center"

    ============
Based on feedback from both our advertisers and users, and consistent with our efforts to present relevant results, we'll no longer allow certain exceptions to our display URL policy. These include, but aren't limited to, redirects and vanity URLs. In line with our existing policy, we'll continue to require that your ad's display URL matches its destination URL (the URL of your landing page). This policy will be strictly enforced for new ads, regardless of previous exceptions. For more details about the current display URL policy, please visit https://adwords.google.com/support/bin/answer.py?answer=47173.

Here are some other important aspects of the policy you may want to keep in mind:

    Tracking URLs

Your ads will be approved if the URL of your landing page domain matches that of your display URL domain.

For example, the following would be acceptable:

    Display URL: www.google.com/adwords
    Destination URL: www.trackingurl.com/google123
    Landing page URL: www.google.com
However, this example would be unacceptable:

    Display URL: www.google.com/adwords
    Destination URL: www.trackingurl.com/google123
    Landing page URL: www.trackingurl.com
