Hi. Im thinking of changing my dedicated server to some other company.
The server i have runs CentOS and the one im getting in other company also.
In my actual server (godaddy) i have an option do backup the entire server. If i backup my files in one tar.zip file can i restore them in the other server?

Would my sites (mostly wordpress fansites and coppermine picture galleries) be available on the other server?

Would i need just to Backup the public html folders or anything else?
    Help. im lost

If both your old and new servers run WHM - you can probably copy all the accounts right over through whm.

Same here. you should have an easy migration with any control panel.

I am not sure if Godaddy use cPanel. I actually doubt it. However, if you have a full backup from Godaddy, you can unzip it on the new server, and move files to public_html, then restore mysql databases from ssh.

Check this thread that he is on the same board with you.

    Hi,

if the control panel is plesk, then take a psa dump from the old server and then restore the psa dump in the new server, just a piece of cake.
