Hold it right there! Don't turn this on me. I never claimed to be enviormentally concerned or not. You however did express concern. You think that localized oil drilling would impact the enviorment so severely that we shouldn't do it. Thus, you can't possibly support using petrolium products in any way shape or form. Using them spreads the problem way further then localized drilling. Surely you see the hypocracy in that position?
Unlike you I'm a reasonable person. I understand that we a DEPENDANCY ON OIL (for now) and regardless of how shitty that is, it's a fact of life. We have to get oil from somewhere right now. Why go risk ruining our land and our safe haven for nature when we've already blown up and destroyed Iraq? There's plenty of oil being drilled all over the world already what sense does it make to go hit Alaska now?
Typical left stragtegy. Abuse other countries, use all their oil first, then tap our own reserves. When that happens I will be the first one waving environmental flags and chaining myself to ice in Alaska to make sure you get a taste of the sentimental stupidity that lurks in the confines of only the most deranged liberal.
Maybe you have no sense. Is it smarter to tap into our small supply of oil and use it all up when we don't need to, or save it for a rainy day when the middle east decides to stop supplying to us? Or when the rest of the world starts to run out?
So let's wait till they are out, or cut us off, or make oil too expensive and then go to Alaska. We'll have our own oil in a meer 10 years or so. What a great plan!
The great plan would be to stop politicians from taking bribes from oil/auto companies and start producing alternatives to oil.
Until the political lobby is made illegal, that won't happen. Welcome to the United Corporations of America!
Mia. using the worlds oil first has been our policy for years it not liberal or consservative plan. Why destroy part of the alaskan wild life refuge, one of the few untouched places on earch, when we could accomplish the same thing by raising fuel effiency in cars. If every car in american got a couple more miles to the gallon, we save more oil then would come out of drilling up there.
