Is the footer an include and is it site wide?

 

The entire site is template-driven.

I know that some sites provide HYIP MONITORING, which can be illegal in some countries that dont allow for hyip investing online. However, ChamberOfGold is not a monitor, it only provides a rating service for websites which is not transfering money in any way through investing.

HYIP stands for HIGH YIELD INVESTMENT PROGRAM.

HYIP's have been on the internet for ages, but haven't had a market for directories of them until the last year.

ChamberOfGold was one of the first starting ranking websites. How it works is an investor, who is making profits from stocks or online investing starts their own HYIP website and offers to invest people's money for them and send them their profits. There are THOUSANDS of HYIP sites out there and they change all the time, it is a very active industry.

The HYIP webmaster then needs to get exposure for their website, so they look for HYIP rating or monitoring websites. ChamberOfGold is a rating website, they can get their site listed for free (and get put on the free listings page), or they can pay a fee and get listed on the homepage.

Members of COG (ChamberOfGold) then go and invest e-gold (an ecurrency www.e-gold.com) in their program and if they get their profits paid on time, etc. they rate the site with 1 SMILEY face. If the site doesnt pay them or doesnt pay on time or stops paying, they rate it an UPSET or ANGRY smiley. People then do this for all the sites listed and you get a great active community.
