Challenging questions, are you up to it?

    Hi,

    I want to create a web service where by user can sms a message to a number called "2345" then the message that they send will be stored in my database, preferably mysql.

    Anyone have any experience on how to start going it? What are the hardware i need, etc.

    Feedbacks greatly appreciated. Thanks

    You need to contact the cellular/mobile providers in your area, preferably their sales department.
    They're going to know everything you need because this involves registering the number on their network, not just programming.

    what about the hardware aspect? do i need to have a sms gateway?

    Again, call your local mobile provider. EVERYTHING you're going to need depends on what type of service agreement you get going. All service providers are not created equal.
