Certification requirments for kitchen product on Amazon?

    Supplier in China told me they don’t have CE certification. Am I right in thinking this is not necessary to sell on Amazon in the US? Are there any equivalent standards the product or factory needs to comply with?

    This is for a kitchenware/food preparation item.

    Does it need to have FDA approval?

    Also if I do decide to sell in uk/eu in future what certifications are necessary there?

    Hi Dan, that really depends on specific products. You don't have to have FDA for flatware but it's definetly better if you have one. Regarding the CE certification, actually it's not hard to get. Your supplier in China can get one within 1 week. It costs around $250.
