hey i have two hosts with SSH - one with root access (VPS) and one without(godaddy shared hosting) and i have tried all sorts to try to install ffmpeg on both and failed.

for some reason i don't have yum command on the vps and godaddy is very restricted on their shared SSH.

just wondering if someone can point me in the right direction. i have been searching on this for a good few weeks now.

    many thanks

You can not install ffmpeg without root access and to install yum on your server you can follow the steps mentioned in this article.

Note: The steps may differ depending on the OS installed on your server. If you are unsure, I suggest to hire admin to do it for you.

I got it done but I had to move to a VPS. I am not that happy with them though I really need a goo red5 VPS server.
