So I think this is my fault.. but I'm just wondering, has anyone also received emails about advertisements (website related?) I'm getting them to my cellphone but I have no idea how they have my number , name, and know that I own websites.. Here are some possibilities: (since I submited my cellphone number to these sites) - Godaddy (and they know I have sites..) - Namespro - Facebook any clue anyone?
A lot of readers of one of my blogs have been getting this recently, as well as unsolicited calls which ring off after half a second, encouraging them to call back (it's a scam). The one thing most have in common is that they are with O2 which may lead the cynical to think that maybe one or more mobile operators are selling details.
that is a strange one , usually they can only send them if you opt in for mobile advertising , and i doubt any of the three sites you mentioned would risk sending out spam , is it possible for you to forward them to your network service provider , they may be able to help @padawan - i have recieved a few of the hang up calls , they want you to ring back ( it will be a premium nuber ) and yes im with o2
Very strange, no one knows at all that I own sites (even stranger) and it's not posted anywhere else.. unless they got it off WHOIS super annoying... southern american accent (no offense) lol..
Cellphone spam happens all the time with me. I also get spam text messages. It's annoying and I wish there were laws that would stop it.
i usually get those stupid sms for downloading tunes etc, but never got any from any websites! i don't think it is from whois or godaddy, but giving off phone numbers on facebook is not a good idea!
have you signed up for those jokes or anything? I had spam to my phone because I bought a wall paper from the provider online... I just bought a nicer phone with a new number.

i suspect 1and1 gave out my information. i got Seo company call me if i need seo service for a few domain that is reg with 1and1. And i got countless mail asking me to transfer out my domain to their company. Facebook's market place is full of scum too. I tried to sell something and received 20+ email asking for my address and phone number
yea, just want to try something new. i need to sell most of my stuff and i rather sell it to local people
