I've always wondered this (not that I have anyone to text message), so maybe someone knows. If you text message from a cell phone in the US, can you send one to a cell phone somewhere else like Australia or Europe or something?
I send from here abroad loads. Including a sporadic intercontinental one. Depends on your provider, they have to enable it. And maybe both have to be on the same network like GSM but I'm not sure on that.
I don't think they both have to be on the same network. I use GSM here in the states, and can text people on CDMA just fine. If it does work Internationally, I wonder if they charge extra.
Maybe I'll test it later with someone I know in Russia. If it works to Russia, surely it would work to the rest of Europe and Australia.
If you're desperate to test I can give you my number, could come in handy for your bartending work here as well You might need some directions. But don't ring me for SEO help
If you know the persons phone number and provider, they usually have a page to send messages at the providers site.
Yeah it's possible. Ill give you all my number and we can try it out I think it's expensive, though. (But ah I'm worth it!) Oh .. Somebody take my coke away puh-leaze..
Careful what you wish for. I'll start text messaging you and T0PS all day. I just figured it out BTW (in case anyone cares). Incoming International text messages are free, outgoing are $0.20, so it's pretty cheap. That's for Cingular... no idea about other carriers.
I don't leave my cell phone on unless I am away from the home office, all my calls are forwarded to it when I leave. We text message here on forum and that is good enough for me, I think it is alright, but like email it could take days for folks to even read it.
Text messaging on a phone is a pretty stupid idea if ya ask me. But hell, what do I know. I'm just pissed cause the buttons are so small. Oh and what's up with those nextel people. Are they thick headed? Sitting in the diner and the cops are having coffee. "BEEP BEEP Wanna come over and smoke a joint?beep" Did anyone tell them we can hear it too?
Me too... I'm waiting for the RAZRberry. I have the RAZR now, but the RAZRberry is going to be as thin with a QUERTY keyboard. No clue how they will fit it, but I want one!
There is a difference between data and cell packets, most phone calls in the future will be on data packets versus cell phone packets. Am I right about this Shawn All BlackBerry products are data driven packets.
I really don't have time for anything unless it is a sale to a customer, other than that I have to work for the man or lose my land and everything on it. So text messaging is good if it is of use to the user.
