The site is http://www.celebrityage.com I am looking for feedback on how to encourage user participation. The design/colors/etc are not yet a concern - just focusing on the premise at this point. I have setup a page where users can add celebrity ages. Additionally, I have setup a queue where the celebrities added by other users must be given the thumbs up by 2 other users before they go live on the rest of the site in an effort to prevent spam. I even setup a link to a pre-filled google search to assist them in confirming the submissions. I'm not seeing a lot of user interaction yet, just looking for feedback on how I can provoke interaction - or what other features I should add.
The site could use a header design with some photographs of celebrities.. the overall layout needs more graphic elements and colors
hmmmm to be fair , start with colors and add many pictures maybe video ( if the script doesnt support adding at least pictures then do not waste your time and look for substitution script , but the edia of the site pretty good
As I said the idea of the site is pretty good , see Britney Spears 208 viewed times . ur site can get good traffic , read the the advices above posted by members and think about it seriously

As I said, I know the layout is lame and lacking in color, etc. I was more interested in what you thought of the concept of the site... if you think people will participate, etc - so that I could find the motivation to improve the graphical and navigational aspects. The "template" is the result of about 30 minutes of work on my part and can easily be spruced up. I've seen a bit of interest, and you folks seem to be giving me positive feedback on the concept as a whole - so I'm going to move forward with improving the cosmetic and logistical aspects of the site over the next few nights. Thank you for your feedback, I'll resurrect this thread once I'm ready for design and logistical critiquing.
As far as I know the concept is unique. People will only use it once it is highly ranked in the search engines. Its not the kind-off site you use daily you see.....
Needs pics and feeds. Maybe integrate amazon links for movies or videos of the star. Mesage board pertaining to celebrities. Noticed Elvis is 72.
The url is great, the idea is great. How about giving more information about the birthday kid of the day. Then you just have to change the design and promote it well. Good Luck

i think grey color is not good. if i were you, i will use white background. also you can put some popular pictures in index.
