Hi there, I see celebrity sites all around the place, people around the forum seem to love them, and on a good day it seems as if one can sell a 3 day old celebrity website for as much as $100 (on this forum). I was wondering what the hype was all about? This niche tends to be a low ctr low paying keywords and these sites don't seem to make more than $1 a day (in my case)... Is this one of those "lets have 100 of those and do good for ourselves?" or am I missing something? Thanks.
it's a low quality, high volume niche. yes, CTRs are low, but it's easy to get an absurd amount of traffic.
its worth if the domain is good, celebrity sites with good content for sure will receive huge traffic , and traffic = $$
GiladG, these type of sites get a huge amount of traffic as disgust said. One site I know of is doing I think maybe around 1 million visitors a day. Basically with this amount of visitors you'll always have an advertiser willing to dish out the big bucks for your traffic.
If you include a celebrity site with fashion, modeling, art supporting with similar blog it will work nice.
its a very popular niche heaps of people are looking for this information so of course traffic =$$$ and people snap these sites up as theri very popular...
It's true about the traffic celeb stuff attracts. I have a current events site covering all news subjects, but when a celeb article is posted, such as the recent TomKat wedding or the death of that Aussie zoo guy, those articles get hit heavier than anything else from the search engines.
Do you think it is more productive working on a frequently updated news site (such as Nemesis7485 had mentioned) or tailoring a site for each celeb type deal which is not as frequently updated? Obviously a single site can gain more authority and links as many individuals, but does it even make a difference in this niche?
good traffic but if your site only focuses on one celeb then its a short term site since celebs fame goes away eventually
