Hi Last week I purchased a famous celebrity domain (*****fan.com), it was in use in 2001 then some time after it was parked and then a year later it was expired, I took a look at the history archive web site and I can see the web site version of 2001, its pretty amazing I saw its hit counter and its number stood more then one million, well for a fan site I think that’s pretty cool. It still got a few back links and I managed to get a few my self with page ranks that goes from 2 till 6, this week it was indexed in both Msn.com and Google.com, my question is this: How long you think it will it take to get ranked well in some se’s? in Alexa its still show its 5 years old, does Google.com and other se’s see it as a new domain? I am not looking to make money for this site as its just a fan site, but I like it get it ranked very well for other fans to come in.
How long it will take will be a direct result of your SEO work and the competition for what you are targeting, whether you make money or not is really not relevant. Search results = incoming links + keywords used in incoming links + words in domain + words in urls + content + h tags + title tags + good karma. Surely a 2001 domain could make goor ground inside a month if it is worked over wisely.
