I got to admit that when I saw Man Uniteds team lineup, I had a feeling we'd beat them today. I didn't expect it to go as far as penalties though, but when it did, I knew we would win. Ben Foster had a couple of terrible moments in goal and I am sure that if Tim Cahill had got his penalty on target, James Vaughans penalty would have won the shoot out not Phil Jagielkas. Man United's youngsters were brilliant I have to say, Ferguson has a youth team full of promise to keep Man United on top for many years to come, even when he retires. Although I am an Evertonian, I have nothing but respect for Ferguson and what he has done at United. I enjoyed his backlashing of Rafael Benitez earlier this week, basic facts are Everton are a big team with a rich history, the second longest serving club in the top flight under Arsenal, with 9 league titles to their name, 5 FA Cups and one European cup. Everton are a big club with a great future ahead of them under David Moyes. The transformation under David Moyes in the last 7 years from the mediocre and relegation battles of the 90's to qualifying for the champions league and Uefa cup in the last couple of seasons and an FA Cup final this season plus a top 6 possible 5th finish on one of the lowest budgets in the premier, should account for praise from everyone involved in football. Well done Everton, the team spirit, the shrewd transfers, the youth players coming through, the great results, just shows money isnt everything in football and gives the game hope for the future. Look at the players in our defense, Jagielka, Baines, Lescott who have all had full national call ups. Hibbert and Osman are on the brink of a call up. I can't wait to see a full Everton defence wearing England shirts! Then we have the likes of Arteta, who was about to be called up to the Spain squad but was unfortunate to be injured. Fellaini is looking like he is worth 15 million and he is only young. Pinaar is a work horse, once he gets his passing sorted out and his first touch, he will be a complete player. Cahill, one of the best players to come from Australia, and an absolute bargain, our top scorer so far. Saha has shown some great skill, if he can stay injury free, another bargain. Tim Howard, USA number 1, outstanding all season. Jack Rodwell is attracting a lot of interest with his consistant performances and has been likened to Roy Keane, he is only 18. Phil Neville, although not the most naturally gifted player is a great captain and keeps the team spirits up, he also has a fluent footballing knowledge and will most probably one day become a great manager.

I have just built a new forum and hopefully this post will attract a couple of sign ups.
