I maintain a celebrity site which I started 6 months ago. I update daily and the site is quite informative and I cover wide range of celebrities in the articles that I write. Here are some features I have on my site: - Celeb latest news & interviews - Celeb trivia - Celeb gallery (My income is 99% generated from my top leaderboard banner. The other banners have very poor CTR) New user forums have just been added to my main celebrity site (under the same domain). I was hoping that the new forums would increase user interaction, improving traffic and earnings. But so far, not many people posting in forums and the CTR has be 0%. Here are my questions: 1. For those running forums, what are your CTR %'s? 2. For those who have a celebrity website, what are your stats? What are some features you have added to your website to increase earnings? 3. I am thinking of creating a "wikipedia" type of page where users can contribute and update on various entertainment / celebrity focused subjects. Initially this will mean daily updates for me, but eventually the daily updates may slow down as more readers contribute. 4. The main entertainment news articles that I write take 2 hours of my time each day and I want to create more "passive income" websites where I do not have to update as much. Any suggestions? 5. My target audience is mostly teens (high school/ college). If I want to create sites that are outside of entertainment field, with higher CTR's, what are some recommendations? 6. What are some good affiliates to use on my website, given the teen audience? Would really like to grow my site to $10-$20 per day; possibly more. Please help and offer your insight!
Others will say it of course, as well, but first things first be sure to take down your specifics on clicks/impressions, CTR, eCPM so that Google doesn't ban you for being against their TOS
hey gia, whats your site? id really like to know since i just started a fan site, and id like to see your layout, my site is www.priyasachdev.com i just started it and get 20 uniques daily..but am yet to really start working on it thnks
Telmari, thanks for the quick tip! But I didn't provide my website url specifically for that reason...I did edit my CTR stats just to be safe.
ash1 you need more photos on your sites and spcing between the paragraphs because it's difficult to read.
hey antithesis...wanted to say ..love ur blogs..amazing designs...mind if i borrow the concept and also...flava of flav is a funny show..nice blog..
borrow all you want because I did the same. Don't forget to space your content and add lots of photos. If possible contact the celebrity herself. I did that with the Flavor of Love Show and now I have the phone numbers of all the contestants.
how much are you guys earning through your entertainment sites on a daily basis? which strategy is better to increase revenue? 1. continue to grow my main site by adding more features; making contents more rich/ high quality 2. build more umbrella entertainment sites & re-direct traffic there? what have been the success stories of other entertainment sites that you can share?
I contacted the girls themselves. Almost every celebrity has a webpage somewhere. Gia, that blog made about $30 a day until the series went off air. The show returns August 6th, I'll let you if it does as well, worse, or better.
