I am wondering if .cc domains are usually worth anything more than the registrar price? The reason I ask is that I was offered a 5 letter domain that if it was a .com would be VERY valuable and easy to promote and make some money off of with a re-sale in the future. What are your opinions?
I agree with TOPS. Like you said YOURSELF "if" it was a .com, would be VERY valuable... IF, but it's >>> NOT <<< Save your money.
I've only got 1 .cc in my domain portfolio -- CleanCredit.cc I thought the name matched the extension and there is an overall credit card theme in my domain. I'm holding onto it to develop.
These kind of lousy domains are just a waste of money. People started buying loads of .kids domains, and they were really expensive. They all let the domains expire, no one was interested in them. Now every day I pop up at Dnforum I find a new type of domain is going to be available. Crazy stuff like .museum .pro and others. But, in recent studies marketing people have found that almost everyone in the net is used to type .com, even if you just remmeber part of how a domain starts, you usually type .com and see if it is right. Save your money.
