CB Report Testing Complete

    Hello Everyone,

For the past few week we have seen some very crazy reports for CB.

I had serveral days of good hop traffic with and without sales like everyone else. So to verify the where is my money theory I ran my own test.

The firat part of this test was to compare a traffic ratio to hops. This would tell me where the current market stood for all of us. The resualts were not very good however still ok and worth promoting CB.

Ratio: 1:25 hops conversion on sales

Then I started thinking. I really need to run compressions on the results before I continue my testing and loose a bunch of time.

This part was very simple however hard on me. To verify the results I took a log of one of my sites. Testing went as follows.

    One day average example:

I took my total traffic count (true count) 2859 Unique

Then I took my hop count for that site from the report 1298 hops

This average was consistant for more then a week.

The test was to stop all in coming traffic and see the report returns.

I stopped almost all traffic which went down to 198 uniques per day

    Here is the good part.

From the report I ran during the stopped traffic days my hop count remainded the same around 12 to 14 hundred hops

There is something really wrong with this. everyone has there questions about if we are really getting screwed and if you think that now you have some proof that something is really wrong.

Outside of all that; think about it. Your site does not really have a continuos even rate of traffic right. Some days traffic is high and others you traffic could be a LOT lower. Compare these days for yourself and match them to your CB report of hops. The hops are most of the time the same.

I'm not saying CB is doing something wrong however it just does not make since.

My friend's been having problems with clickbank as well and everybody is saying how they're getting no sales.

Today it's not letting me login, saying there was an error? And I didn't change any information at all.

That might not be clickbanks problem but I didn't do anything. It's being weird.

It has little to do with a problem with Clickbank and more to do with most webmasters being clueless on how and where to market.

Sending a ton of un-targeted traffic to any product or service is simply a time waste / brain drain. For example you will run tests that prove nothing other than you may be able to run a test.

    Let me give an example.

You sell walking canes to the blind.... and decide to place ads in Google Adwords.

Or you sell prosthetics to people with no legs, and placed ads in Runners magazine.

You sell dog houses and place ads in Cat Fancy magazine.

As you can see these brilliant ideas......are not very brilliant after all.....

Hope this helps and no offense to blind people or those without a leg....

As it seems you haven't read a thing I wrote.

The whole thing was not just to run a f##### report. It was about statistics of a report and how they are wrong. This had nothing to do with sales or and part of sales. It was all about REPORTING and not ads and niches. I do understand what your saying however it does not have the first thing to do with placing an ad or making a sale. It war about traffic.

So you don't think it not crazy that you site has almost no traffic for a week and CB reports the same amount of hops?

I am thinking you did not filter the date range correctly within clickbank.

However it is possible for this to occur let me explain

You send 100,000 visitors who are not targeted visit your site and they generate 100 hops.

Now you send 500 targeted visitors to your site and they generate 100 hops.

Same amount of hops... at a fraction of the traffic...Not hard to understand at all.

This is where a complete understanding of marketing comes in and why testing without that understanding is a time waste.

    ;)

You still don't get it . I did not have the site online for more then a week and nothing changed in the report. The DNS was not pointing to the domain at all and the report still had 1200 hops per day. Not in no wat can this happen.

Is that better? The hops should be near none. and Yes I do know how to run the report so quit assuming I don't know what i'm doing.

Ok well you either had one week or several weeks.

Being as you don't know which, I doubt you can run a report properly.

Anyway in all honesty I could care less from this point...good luck trying to figure out whats wrong....you need it from what I can see....

Very hard to understand due to your poor spelling and comprehension, what type of site are we talking about that you used in the test?

Blasingame this is the 3rd or 4th thread where we've told you the same thing ... your traffic appears very untargeted ...

    but even more confusingly ...

... how do you have a site completely offline but still get 198 uniques a day??!??!

It can happen - it could be bots (such as the Googlebot) spidering the hoplinks. Bots will grab all the links in your site initially and then spend a long time going through them and spidering them.

the hop numbers shown in cb are not accurate as cb themselves disclose it in their faqs. they advise to use tracking softwares to calculate real hops on our own servers!
