Category pages are not indexed...is it good from SEO perspective?

    i think it will not effect your website..even though if it is indexed on Google it will be fine ...:)

    There is no issue if archive pages are not indexed because these are neither important nor necessary to come in search results. category or tag must be indexed because it will help to get rank in search engines on respective category or tag. It is bad from SEO perspective.
