Each category will be having a different id. Give the image corresponding to a category a name related to the id, say img_1, img_45, img_120 etc. Edit the template to show the image corresponding to the category.

You could use an enumeration value and match the image name with the category name too.

Very nice, especially with LinkForever's mods! :)
Suggestion: slow down scrolled ads. You can do it in Admin for Sponsored Ads settings. Same with banner rotator.
Remember once I created mod for automatical icons menaged from Admin...

I could probably do this for $50 for you.
I haven't done it before, but I can't imagine it being hard.

Well, all I will say is everyone knows where this MOD originated.

    www.allmediadirectory.com

being able to control the x/y coords in admin was always a nice-addon.
shame people cannot think of their own MODs, but are now ripping ideas already made.

I am getting fed up of this crap at this point with knock-offs.

    but yea, w/e

Yep, originality is gone down the drain. At least the icons are different.

    i have a web directory,
    http://www.harmu.com

i have also tried the same thing, since it is made by me, so the template is still not good looking, but i have tried to put up the icons.

well, your yellow directory is looking great, i like your icons!

Anyways, the mod is requested for phpLD.

You should use it too, the manual directories are much harder to manage. :)
