I see that some directories have categories that go very deep, but as far as im aware, this then makes it difficult for PR to be passed onto these futher down pages. Im currently adding categories to my first directory and so far have only got: Top > Main Category > Subcategory , basically ive gone no deeper than that in any category, would you say this is more ideal than going as deep as some categories do, because for some time ive read that you dont want anything too far from the homepage on a site, its like people get lost when it starts going too deep.
It doesnt make much sense.. If you have less categories, then when you receive lot of submissions - it is going to go to next page (paging on) which again is deeper.. If you allow many links on one page for a particular category - then again no value as per SEO
Not to worry, the PR will flow naturally. Build your directory with a structure that's easy for your users. When categories become too large, divide them.
Sorry MeetHere, your correct, i was focusing so much on one thing that i was missing the obvious right infront of me. Thanks
