My blog is about finance and investing topics. It doesn't really focus on a specific area within finance and investing though. I am trying to categorize all of my posts in less than 15 categories. Does anyone have any tips on categorizing blog posts? Thanks.

What I do to start is I make a long list of what I know is involved in my topics. Then I start to look at possible duplication. Smaller topics that are part of a larger topic on your list.

If need be, I use sub categories. If I have more than a couple articles on a smaller topic, I use sub categories to keep things neat but if I only have one article, I use the broader category and do not make a sub cat.

This way I can parse down the menu to fewer categories.

hope that helps you a little

Look at some other finance and investing websites to see what are the categories they use for their articles.

Review the table of contents of finance and investing books in your local library.

You can also try categorizing your posts as you write.
