Hi i was wondering some directories boast pr 4 or 5 but when you check out the categories you see a very low pr rank sometimes 0. Are, these really worth the time and effort to submit to? I find 15$ pretty expensive for a pr 0 link where the only traffic seeing links is webmasters submitting there links.
I'll say it although others people wont: Those are nothing but expired domains that people have managed to snatch up and are trying to QBC.
Well, it would depend on the owner of course. It's more a matter of knowing who's who and how accomplished they are. You first need to analyze the forums a bit. Sit back, read some posts, get a feel for people in general.
yea just do a little bit of research on the domain and you can usually find out if its a high pr domain which has been turned into a directory very nasty trick to do that if you are charging people for submissions..
It depends, some site have PR0 on sub pages because the directory has recently been changed for example changing from .htm to .php but if is a good directory, the sub pages will pick up PR at the next google dance.
Another thought, perhaps the category has been added after the last update. I hope to keep no more than 20-30 links per category/subcategory so I will be adding categories and subcategories as it grows. Also keep in mind since most directories and other sites where the directory may be advertised may only be linking to the first page - it would naturally have a higher PR than interior pages.
I think it depends on the site tbh - its not always old domains. I've always found it strange that my niche directory has since the last update had PR5 and really good inner PR pages consisting of PR5, PR4 and PR3. Needless to say i've some how managed to achieve some quality content as no backlinks point directly to those deeper, inner categories.
Sabian, are you sure you don't have any links to the interior pages? I know some of my submittors are linking to the parent category or subcategory their site appears in. My site doesn't require recips - I've found the links through research or because the submittor told me they gave me a link back.
http://search.yahoo.com/search?p=linkdomain:voisd.com+-site:voisd.com 7,560 links http://search.yahoo.com/search;_ylt...-site:voisd.com&prssweb=Search&ei=UTF-8&x=wrt 6,210 links so around 1,300 deep links
