    Hi Folks,

I was wondering when will be the appropriate time to start linkbuilding campaign to catch next PR update.

Suppose August 15th is the next PR update and when will you start linkbuilding so that this PR update will occur to a brand new site ?

I'm building a new site and I want it to be a Pr3/4 in next update.;) [ Don't know whether it is feasilble  ]

Any comments or ideas ? :)

    Regards,
    Tuning

An easy way to check is look at blog entries just before the last update, the latest blog entry with a green bar is the date that G gave PR to, I think with mine it was about 2 weeks before the toolbar changed.

Why wait to start getting inbound links? I seek out new links all the time.

Because I want to set a schedule for getting links before specified time. I'm currently busy with "DS" service and practically lacks enough time to work on my own sites.

Well a PR update could really be any day now. The last one was April 22nd, if Google goes back to 3 months for this one it could be in 2 weeks... No one knows for sure but I think we're due.

So I would start building links asap if you plan to be PR 3/4.

    Thanks JoeO,

But if I start link building now, It may not be known to google anyway.[ Thus the 2 weeks thing should be increased to 3 or 4 I think]

I don't think it is possible to start link building in an exact time frame before an update. Because you never know when it will be. The last one was about 3 months and 20 days. Before that there were a few that were 3 months apart.
So the best I can figure is we should get one within the next 2-6 weeks.

My question is do you plan on just buying 1 month text links right before the update then letting them expire?

Because if these are going to be more permanent links why not do it whenever you have time, because they will still be there for the update.

I'm having mix-match plans and thus they include paid links and permanent links.

    Thanks for the suggestions. :)

Google spiders continously so building links should be an on going effort.

I have already started, but I plan to launch another informational site soon. But since content is more important it may take more than what I expect. Thus making sure, I have enough time to do the linking.;)

I have been making some changes to be more spider freindly when the next update happens.
