You can most definitely contract what are commonly called 'STDs' if someone who is infected drinks from your drink. Already mentioned is herpes. Another, particularly nasty set of diseases transmissible through saliva, are those that cause hepatitis, commonly called, hep a, hep b, hep c. There are other stds of note which can, rarely, be transmitted through indirect contact such as hpv (human papilloma virus) and of course, gonorrhea.
Think about it. You go to your doctor after discovering you have HIV. Doctor: So how did you catch it anyway? You: I french kissed a girl Doctor: Yea, right, you fucked did not you? You: No im still a virgin! Doctor: Thats what all of you say. You: No im being serious! Doctor: Yea right, *Goes to update his/hers website* "Another case of HIV reported as a man went around sleeping with half the town"
lol The funnyest thing last night was when this guy joined in our argument and said: "Right, im a builder..... And i never had a problem....." We were just like WTF...
You should have backed that up with "I'm an accountant and get out of my converstion before I punch you in your dirty builder mouth"
A psychology webmaster, I know what you're saying. I don't agree with your lifestyle, but I accept it.
mightyb, don't be so cheap next time. Just let your friend have a sip of your beer. You don't have to tell everyone you have herpes and are worried about them catching it by drinking after you.
AIDs is technically, not an STD although it is able to be transmitted through sex. Edit: apparently I got in late on this one... Either that or the responses poured in faster than I could type.... must be the gonorrhea... or was it the syphilis?
I decided to look for the information provided to me. My classroom instruction was with handouts and an instructor so I'll find the 'confirmed' case of hiv transmission via kissing. In the mean time, read what the CDC says about kissing infected people: http://www.cdc.gov/hiv/pubs/facts/transmission.htm ********** Because of the potential for contact with blood during "French" or open-mouth kissing, CDC recommends against engaging in this activity with a person known to be infected. ********** Mentions one case, but didn't say it was confirmed, this page is about 2 years old. I'll find where they 'confirmed' it by doing genetic comparison between the tranmitter and the newly infected. brb, tom
Tom, why not go the whole 9 yards? Track down that infected person and kiss him and then we'll just wait to see what happens to you... FYI, the Catholic church and the Jehovah's Witnesses both recommend against kissing ANYONE until after marriage (or is that after death? I always get that part confused...)
See this is thread is one of the reasons why I never kiss any of the girls I hook up with. I don't want to risk catching a mouth STD from some random girl I have sex with.
I think I speak for everyone here at DP, HU, when I say we all have a great deal to learn from you...
