I have been receiving checks from british affiliate companies in british pounds. Anyone have suggestions for cashing them? One of my bank accounts charge $50 for every foreign check while the other one took 2 months and I think charged some fees on top of that. I have looked into opening a UK account but that does not seep possible post 9-11. Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated.
Does the Affiliate have other ways of paying you ? Maybe you can explore that option ? Otherwise, see if you can find the same bank which issue the check existing in the US and see about opening an account there, sometimes that can speed up the payment and may be cheaper too. Wire transfer is another option and should be cheaper than the $50 and almost instant.
