Dear DigitalPoint Forum Users, The website oxid.ro has 2 subdomains the first one is dictionary.oxid.ro and the second one thesaurus.oxid.ro. The website is pretty new, it has been launched in May. Since then i`ve began add both subdomains to as much as possible website directories. After that Google then Yahoo, Ask then Msn began to crawl my website. Now when i look at the indexed pages for the major search engines i see something like this: Google 61 Yahoo 0 MSN 19 Alta Vista 4,310 AlltheWeb 4,270 Are this results ok? I dont know why google and msn also doesnt start indexing more pages. At the last PR update(13.04.2006) only thesaurus.oxid.ro went to PR1 only. And the havent changed. Is this normal? Take a look yourself at the website, at the page sources and tell me what should be changed, or what should i do to improve to get better results. Thanks Alot!
Get a few powerful incoming links to your site. That will get the crawlers movin' and shakin' and index your site completely.
Nice site, good idea and a functional resource as well. Good stuff. As far as the basics; 1.New sites can end up in the mythical ‘Google Sandbox’ though it seems this may only be certain competitive markets. 2.A strong link building program will help get the Google Dance going (deep crawl) 3.Your PR shows 0 from here on all. 4.Spend $200 on Yahoo directory. That’ll get U going. Being a new site, you have a world of work ahead of you. Just keep on reading, learning and applying. Also, don’t get myopic about Page Rank. Bad Ju Ju
Voasi, i`ve submited the website to many Big directories. I`m waiting for approvals. thegypsy thanks for good words, i`m waiting for a DMOZ editor to add my website to the dictionary category, i will see then if i will add the website to yahoo dir. I know that the PR for oxid.ro is 0 but for the subdomain thesaurus.oxid.ro is 1. Thank you all. I`m still waiting for tips, and new ways to improve the rankings of the website.
Big directories aren't powerful links. A "powerful" link would fall under this category: - Indexed Daily - Fresh content (frequently) - No other outbound links - Lots of inbound links That would be an ideal scenario. Find one of those and pay for it. You'll get indexed soon with a link like that. Most of the time though, you'll find sites that fit that criteria, except for the "no other outbound links", which there are usually just a few others. No biggy.
