I'll take it. Hopefully the CB and SEOBook commissions start pouring in soon See you guys tomorrow!
good to see a dedicated webmaster posting his findings in this forum. i really appriciate that, i hope i can learn some from you. by the way. i dont think you should add your seobook credit to your income. since it isnt something you can withdraw. this money is is on seobook and stays there until you spend it there. (if im wrong then dont mind this) i saw you uploaded the wordpress stats plugin, could you expalin where you found this and what it does? and you could also try and upload the sitemap plugin. its a must have for all seo plans. just keep up the good work and keep updating. im eager to read more
Hmm... interesting point Giamatti. I'm pretty sure that this $20 credit is actually income, although I could be wrong since I've never been an affiliate for SEO Book before. Like most affiliate networks, there is a minimum payout of $100, so that would prevent the non-serious noobs from stealing $20 at a time... I'm pretty sure they put it right into my positive income account. I feel pretty good about this SEO Book affiliate network though, they've been known to have high conversion rates in the IM world. If and when I hit the $100 mark (hopefully sooner rather than later) we'll find out and I might need to make an adjustment. But, for now, I'll leave it.
Day 4: Ok, so after some digital camera malfunctions, yesterday turned into a day off (of sorts)... I only posted up one 500 word article to EZA/the blog, and added the three I have to GoArticles. Continued with the usual link building stuff. Day 5 updates in a bit... today's gonna be a good day, I can feel it!
ok, so it's been a few days. been hard at work with multiple jobs and such so now i'm back to work... my ecourse is being uploaded now so i now have a 14 part video series on the site... started PPC with adwords and heavy backlinking as well as EZA submissions. i'll give a more thorough update tomorrow. anyone know why i'm not allowed to have a sig yet?
Nice to see another journal but you could do with a bit more detail such as your reasoning behind your decisions, ie you chose this host because.... or I submitted to this directory because... created unique article for this..... rewrote for that..... What was the process for choosing your niche? Its great but it will end up like Bridget Jones diary rather than something useful for others to follow.
ok, I'm back. my life has been absolutely insane lately because I work two jobs on top of my internet marketing stuff (college... rough life) bridget jones' diary? I'm offended! haha not really but in all honesty I picked a niche that I felt I had experience in. i go through my process in my e-course on my site, check it out. ready for the shameless plug? it's free so officially this would be day 13. I'll try to cover everything I did in the past week or so. - downloaded the Atahualpa WP theme for my blog. if you've never used it, its really customizable. very, very easy to make your blog look like a regular website. - and after installing it, I did a lot of design work. check it out if you haven't seen it in a while, it's a lot different now than it's been for a while. - still submitting EZA and GoArticles stuff... starting to see some traffic from that. very targeted stuff from one article. - got rid of AdSense after it made me about $10. didn't want to see my traffic going to waste. - I haven't made an affiliate sale yet but my content is still hitting the presses! I'm sure I'll see some soon. - haven't spent another penny since I started the site, and I've made $29.79. so I'm still in the red by about $10 but the site is about to take off, especially with the traffic I'm getting to SEO Book. check out the site below and follow me live! Today's Earnings: $0 Today's Costs: $0 yeah, I know, boring day. should start seeing results soon
Great, these are the basic steps of the internet marketing, i hope your coming post will talk some deep!
Uhm... excuse me Joe, but I visited your site and it seems that there is nothing much to see on the site (probably coz it's a startup site), and somehow I get the feeling that I have read those info's before (is it because it's basic SEO and traffic?).
Nice stuff. Enjoyed reading the updates. Might I suggest you install a plugin like go codes or something, to mask your affiliate links. It has stat tracking as well. Basically it makes seobook.com/aff?blabla to yousite.com/whateveryouwant/whateveryouwant like - yoursite.com/go/seobook, yoursite.com/go/aweber etc. It should increase your click throughs.
Thanks for this - Just subscribed to this thread and I will faithfully follow along. Do you copy articles between EZA and your site as a way of saving time, or do you believe Google's duplicate content penalty applies to the same posts between separate sites?
I actually haven't copied any articles word for word. If you check the articles on EZA, they have the same title but are 1. articles from the blog that I've spun or 2. part 1 in a chain. The method I'm trying right now with EZA/article marketing is as follows: 1. Write an EZA article: 90% content, 10% mentioning your product, with the link to a blog article... 2. The blog article, which is additional content related to the EZA article with a personal sales pitch for my product, with an affiliate link to... 3. The product LP. I've never really tried this sales method before but then again it's a new niche so it's time to try something new. So far today I've posted one of these new 3-part chains, and wrote another blog article.
This is pretty interesting. It can be hard to keep this updated running 2 jobs along with this, but best of luck and I'll be following all the way! If you need promotion, I'd be willing to hold an interview with you and post it on my web 2.0 blog (see my sig). Just PM me if interested, best of luck!
You've read this information before? Maybe because it works... I've read every IM book under the sun, so I wouldn't be surprised if some of my info is subconsciously rehashing the same old stuff. It's all useful though. I've found that one of the keys to blogging is to just give your readers a taste every time. Don't satisfy them with a single article, ever. Stick to 300-word blurbs that can be easily absorbed and implemented. One idea per post, with no more than 10 individual items in each.
