Are google results now case senstive?I heard this discussion in may 2008 but didn't find any outputs. Many of them reporting the same problem. Is it official? And its not the same for all keywords. For some keywords, results are coming different if i changed the case. When i searched for staffing services , our site is in first page [saipeople] in Google US results http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=staffing+services&aq=f&oq=staffing+service&gl=us If i search for STAFFING SERVICES our site is on 2nd page - http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&gl=us&q=STAFFING+SERVICES&start=10&sa=N If i am not wrong, can you guys explain me how to optimize for CAPITAL LETTER keywords?
Looks like case-sensitive search is alive and well! But I say, who wants 'STAFFING SERVICES' (vs. 'staffing services' or 'Staffing Services') unless you're looking to place some whiny 14-year-olds? Really, though - I can't imagine that the 'CAPS' has a huge sway in the SERPS (I couldn't just make a page rank #1 on StaFFinG sErviCes (I hire l33tz0rz haXozr)) overnight just because I spelled it differently. I say throw a few 'STAFFING SERVICES' links back towards your page and it shouldn't be too hard to bump it up to the first page. Maybe more of your inbounds are 'staffing services' where some of your competitors have 'Staffing Services' (which would be closer) for their inbound anchor text.... just a thought. Another possibility is that Google found that your competitors had a higher CTR on 'STAFFING...' than 'staffing...' - just throwing ideas out there.
You really shouldn't try to optimize for ALL CAPS. Most people know, or should know by now--- that its not POLITE to SHOUT WITH ALL CAPS! (It means you are yelling at someone) Therefore, anyone who is that dumb, to keep their CAPS LOCK ON, is someone too stoopid for their own good! By optimizing for all caps -- you will ruin your First Page results for "Staffing Services" (not a good idea) I had a similar dilemma several years ago: Should I optimize for "Disk Jockey" or "Disc Jockey" --- the correct spelling is now with a "C" but the Old Skool Vinyl Jocks still spin vinyl disks (spelled with a "K"). About 30% of the population still spells Disk with a "K" I decided to stick with optimizing for D-I-S-C and not worry about the K version, because I can't afford to waste the extra key word.
Instead of rushing to make inaccurate statement, I googled as follows: MONEYORHEALTH Results 1 - 10 of about 513,000,000 for MONEYORHEALTH MONEY OR HEALTH Results 1 - 10 of about 2,040,000,000 for MONEY OR HEALTH moneyorhealth Results 1 - 10 of about 513,000,000 for moneyorhealth money or health Results 1 - 10 of about 532,000,000 for money or health My findings: MONEYORHEALTH or moneyorhealth - no difference to G. MONEY OR HEALTH or money or health - big difference to G. I wonder why. Anybody care to tell me why?
MONEYORHEALTH or moneyorhealth - no difference to G. - Those are only one keyword search. MONEY OR HEALTH or money or health - big difference to G. I wonder why. - Those are key-phrases.
I am also begining to believe it's true Sethuram. I have been getting mixed results fro case sensitive searches. I noticed this when i made the mistake of making my sites's title tag all caps. my site was coming up in very strange case sensitve searches. Rob
It is true there is different in results in the case of upper and lower cases. But it happens not with all words.
I do not theing Google SE is case sensitive. Also I check for STAFFING SERVICES and its small letter in the same time .. got same result ( checked 3 SERP). Are u sure u checked in the same time or leave some interval between the 2 query
