I am looking for thoughts on the best way to get exposure online for editorial cartoons? I have just completed one about Treasury Secretary Paulson and the bailout situation and want to blast it out while relevant. Suggestions?
Do the SEO tricks that any regular webmaster does. Buy backlinks, offer money under the table via paypal to blog owners to mention your cartoon.....join some forums and post a link to your cartoon. etc. etc. etc.
Offer it to some newspapers for free, since they pay very little for a single cartoon. Make sure they agree to put it on line too.
Submit them to funny sites, like davesdaily, humour, collegehumour.... These sites are always looking for fresh material. Also, put them in newspapers. Yeah, yeah, you'll have to pay for that one, but if you want to make money, you are going to have to spend it. Maybe make bumper stickers out of them and sell them? Maybe put it on a car magnetic door sign and put it on your car?
