I am not sure about the money in social work. But you will get lot of work if you want to.If you have enough money and its your wish is to do social work, Just Do It.Nothing wrong about it.
How can you make a career in social work? Social workers are unpaid volunteers. Sure you can make it your priority, but it wont be a 'career' for you, you will have to depend on donations and stuffs. Unless you are talking about ripping people off their donations on the name of social work, thus making it your career. Then you will be a scam artist, jail will be your destination and you will do the social work by leaving the society alone.
Its a good carear if the pay does not worry you,i see it as cheap labour they do a good job in the community but the pay is terrible.
I respect people who do social work, but its definitely not for me. I prefer to work for myself from home doing affiliate marketing.
Yes, there is no attractive money in the social work. But I think it is a repectable job. I am planning to do social work in near future.
Social work is a noble work and making career in this field is awesome idea.Go ahead. You will be lucky if you get this opportunity.
A career in social work can be very rewarding. I actually majored in social work at Virginia Union University. I's a very broad field and can be used in many business sectors. The need for social workers is very demanding but the may is not all the great. I would only recommend if you have the passion for helping people.
Social workers in my countries(I have duel citizenship France/Canada)are well paid but......they often suffer from anxiety and depression. You have to have a thick skin to be a social worker. You will witness first hand abused children, domestic violence, the terrible effects of drug addictions and alcoholism on families. There will be endless hours of reports to file, mountains of paperwork and hours spent sitting in family court. You will often feel overwhelmed.I know all of this because I have a friend who is a social worker and I know what she goes through.Good luck to you in your endeavor.
Yes, I am agree with your comments. I am giving my services to an orphanage. It is very difficult to understand child mentality and way of thinking. Thanks dude... I am also pursuing my PG in Social Work and currently I am a full time volunteer working in an orphanage.
I have so much respect for social workers but I don't think it can be considered a career if it doesn't pay your bills.
