LOL!! Note the number of results, just 81!!!! I'm the 9th domain listed but that'll change as Google finds more of my back-links.

Make the domain strong like hell and then would be easy to win some of them.

....and as a side note... to show how poorly ranked / spidered / indexed the Carcasher.com domain is-- their page about the contest has not shown up in any of the SEs yet even though it is linked from every other page on their site.

I wander how they'll do to be able to be sure that a site didn't use any black hat technics to place well on top of SERP...
An easy way to disqualify a competitor should just be adding him in FFA, and spamming (with his page) blogs, forums and guestbooks

 

Judging by the number of results, this might be a TINY contest, when it comes to the competition!! v7ndotcom had 119,000 results with in a few days!!

 

Interesting to see my squidoo pages on page 2 with only signature links on this forum.

Most interesting is the fact they are duplicate pages and the one without a hyphen shows up first in the results.

Edit: just realised I only link to the page without the hyphen so no wonder it shows up first! Still its good how the page with the hyphen is showing up on page 2 with no backlinks!

 

I have two .be domains one with hyphen and other without, filled with similar content..
I really want to see once and for all what is better .. with hyphen or without ..

btw, from what I've done in this contest and from examining the v7n contest, Google obviously prefers the domains and prefers them withOUT hyphens.

With identical backlinks and almost identical content the one WITH hyphen is first.
It seems that obviously people prefer ones withOUT hypen

 

They were talking about .be domains today on webmasterradio ... Google doesn't like them

It is probably because .be domains were free in january

but anyway.. google shouldn't care.. you can find spam on .com .org .net .*... Spam filtering shouldn't be done through filtering out the domain namespaces. Usually content is spam, not domains..

It would be pretty strange if google banned whole belgium namespace

 

My test was not as controlled, but close. I have two hyphen domains and two without hyphens. They all received the same starting backlinks. The two withOUT hyphens are #1 and #2 right now. The two with hyphens are #5 and #8.

In the v7n, the top 3 domain listings are all non-hyphen. The one hyphen on the first page is a .be

 

I agree, that would be total discrimination. I guess they will just have to deal with them spam ...
