As you can probably tell from my recent blog posting I've got one of those carcasher sites. Well, I'm in it for a bit of fun and more importantly to learn more about SEO. I've compiled an analysis of the current top 10 sites and have posted it on my blog as I thought some of you guys/galls may be interested. Its a bit lengthy so I've saved it as a PDF. If you like the article I would appreciate it if you could DIG me Here Lyndon
As the owner of a #1 site (.ca) ... still #1 on some datacentres.... that was an interesting set of observations but I'm not sure I find it that useful. I bet I could remove almost all of my onpage optimization and my ranking wouldn't change. It is all about off-site these days of course. It would be more interesting if you did a lot of digging into the backlinks and described how each site formulated it's backlink strategy.
I think your probably right - checkout #7 http://biogime.info/ Ill be doing more "learning" as the comp goes along - so expect more bedtime reading
Will do! (biogime was in umm linksomethingorother.. one of those auto-trading directories. They changed their entry in the linkfarm to "carcasherdotcom seocontest" and shot up the rankings. It was embarassing to see Google still getting fooled by an obvious farm.)
Ack!! I need to get 3,200 more back-links to beat that shortcut site!!!!! I'm the carcasherdotcom-seocontest.com dude with that terrible news!!!!
