Car prices in India?

    I was thinking that some day I might stay in india for a while because Ive heard that you can have a good lifestyle over there for a small price monthly.

    So everyone needs a car to get around and I was just wondering how much does it cost to buy a car in India, new cars and second hand cars.

    Cost should be around 8-15 Laks (Rupees). I'm not sure how much that is on USD.

    according to my currency converter 15 indian rupees is $0.30 cents??? Thats to good to be true lol.

    Do you mean 8-15 thousand rupees

    Just thought I'd say that 'lakh' means 100,000 in case you got confused on that. In other words, 1.5 million rupees which would be around $30k.

    I am from India and the car prices varies. But the cheapest (also cheapest car in the world:)) car "Nano" is $2000 only and in Indian currency about 100,000. one US$ ia equal to Rs 50 approximately. The price goes higher and higher from that.

    You can buy a good small to medium car between 2 lakhs to 5 lakhs (INR) (Maruti Alto,Maruti 800,Maruti Van,Hyindai Santro,Chevrolet Spark and many more.

    You can get a car starting from $2500 to $25000.

    Now you would have to choose which one you need. :p

    Prices for each of the CAR in India is different.
    If you go for TATA NANO Car it is cheapest car in India.
    If you want to buy HONDA CITY Car, it is costly for you.
    First decide your budget and then try to buy a new car.

    well, Tata NaNo basic model is around $2500 . and comfortable model is around $5000 .
