There are a lot of programs out there that can capture streaming video from sites like YouTube and Hulu but I can't seem to find one that will do Television Networks. Anyone know of a good one that works well? I think most of the networks require that you install silverlight first? any help is appreciated.

Silverlight is popular and compliant with most browsers, so it's an agreed step to require you to install it in many networks.
And I use this video recording toolkit to record streaming video as you stated from YouTube, hulu, MySpace, mega, etc, including TV networks. It has a background continuous record function that will not interrupt by mic noise or webpage close up as long as you have correctly add the url of video.
