Capitals in url's now being highlighted

Today is the first time I have noticed that its not just lowercase url's that are highlighted. It used to be that capitals in url's were not highlighted in Google results.

When did Google change to this??? I have not seen anything mentioned on this Google forum in DP, and I didn't happen to see anything mentioned in wmw?

Yahoo has highlighted capitals in url's for some time, and I am very pleased that Google has stopped this stupid distinction.

Yup, but absolutely same results for "Meat" and "meat" for me, so this isnt affecting rankings in any way...
I have problems with cyrilic in URLs - they are not highlighted :(

We'll be polite and not ask why you were searching for 'meat'...:p

Yes they are highlighted, but I am not seeing any SERP differences vs not Capitalized...are you seeing that? or more correctly "Were" you seeing that. i had not noticed a distinction in G! up until now.

Actually, I was assessing the SEO of some of my competitors clients, and one of them happened to be a meat site. So excuse me!!! :D

Not mentioning the specific site (not the one that I highlighted). The competitors SEO was not as good as I could have done, but its always interesting to see "how much" SEO is enough to get some sites high for specific phrases on Google. Sometimes you can get away with quite low quality SEO and still get high SERPS when competition is low.

I was doing some searching to see whether butcher or meat was a more targeted phrase. Then all the sexual connotations, butchering people, and games means that its not always the easiest to find the most appropriate phrase.
