Some of the advertisers offer banners and buttons. It all depends on the individual company. However, in my experience, text ads tend to convert better than banner ads due to ad blindness.

It's true, ad blindness is a big problem. However, for me personally at least, I'd like the merchant to provide as much promotional materials as possible, even banners. Sometimes though, I'd do my own banners if the merchants' are of mediocre quality (it happens!)

I think all other affiliate networks are offering them...so even CB should try to implement it.

let's face it, CB is great but it's far from being a sophisticated network like CJ. It's currently up to the merchants to provide the promotional tools on their own and if they don't then, then affiliates are the ones who need to put in the work.

To be honest, a lot of times the merchant themselves will be willing to work with you directly to create more promo materials if you show that you're really interested in their product.

A while ago, I decided to promote a brand new product which another forum member announced the launch of. I contacted him directly because I wanted more promo stuff for my site, asking if he had anything more he could give out, and he went out and made a promo video for me to use to promote!

So I guess the moral is if you need it but don't see it, ask! Even if the merchant is pretty busy, who's really going to turn away someone who's really interested in driving traffic & sales? :)

A lot of companies will allow you to create your own banners that blend with your site ;)

Like it already have been said, most of vendors allow banners and other promo tools. You just need to visit their page and look for 'Affiliates' page or 'Webmasters' page at the bottom of the page ( it is there most of the times)
