My website is run on linux with apache. I use shtml for all my pages except the home page which is html. I pasted the php code for non shtml pages into my home page and added the <include directive in my footer files for the shtml pages. I have installed the php file, and txt file as indicated in the instructions and set the appropriate permissions. http://www.jefferyshields.com I still cannot validate. Any thoughts on what I missed?
this is a nevermind. I ran some tests with my ISP and discovered that the mechanism described in the setup instructions will not work on my server due to the way it is configured. It does not supported imbedded php in html or shtml files regardless of how I try to work around it. I could use pure php and have it work but I that doesn't work for me as I would need to redo my entire site. Oh well, I really liked the idea, too bad I can't use it.
