I read on these forums all the time about people selling links, and banner ad spaces to horrid sites. However, every time I post on these forums for banner ad space, or test link ad space on a great innovative site, I never get any replies. The site is nearly brand new and it is already PR3. I've only just begun building back links too! I was only charging $10 per month for a site wide banner ad at the bottom of every article on the entire site. Am I asking too much? Does anyone have any other ideas why this isn't working for me? The site is: http://www.informativepost.com
Well people who are looking to buy advertisement are obviously looking for traffic, have you posted all the traffic details including demographics of your visitors in your ads?
Sent you a PM. I like your site. If you don't get response try reducing the price little. Also post ad on other forums as well.
$10 a month is a lot. You can start low if you need cash and increase the price when your web traffic increases. I had same issue so I just gave up for now...
I have put my uniques and monthly page views, but it didn't help. I got about 20K uniques and over 30K page views last month, and this month is looking even a lot more promising. The site is growing nearly exponentially. In November, I got 5K uniques. The site launched in late October. What would be a good monthly price for now then? Or would I be better off selling a few text ads to the right of all the articles?
$10 is not a lot at all.. that’s less than 0.33 cent a day, and its site wide. I think you need to sell the offer better. A little bit of crafting you should be able to get some signups.. For example, you have to help show the customer why spending money on your site has value. You get the idea.. Beyond that... looking over your website, I’m not feeling the design, nor do I see where the value is in the site within a couple click. The 2nd part is something you really want to work on, because if customers cant see the value they don’t stick around and thus no more traffic, links, and ad sales. Best of luck!
Chances are, that people might think of it as 'low quality' links. That $10 a month price can also has a negative effect on your thread by giving it a 'cheap' look.. if you know what I mean Try raising the price..
Thanks so far with all the great advice. I do need to work on my sales pitch, and I never thought that the price would cause a negative effect. The site is evolving as more content is being added. The design part of the site has been the hardest to overcome, because so many people have different views and I want to make everyone happy! lol
