Hello, I can't open secure ssl sites in IE that start with https for example the login page of plimus.com, but i can open it on proxy. I can open some of them though. I read many articles on the internet, but did not get any solution. I even tried reinstalling the windows but no luck. I even used these commands, but no luck. My SSL 2.0 and SSL 3.0 are enabled, the date/time of the computer is correct. I am using Microsoft Windows XP. I even tried switching to firefox, but does not solved the problem. I get the following error "connection timeout, server taking too long to respond, page cannot be displayed". Can anyone please help me. P.S. Sorry if i posted this in to the wrong forum, but i found this one most appropriate forum to post as this is related to microsoft.
So, whats the solution? I also tried re-registering softpub.dll, installing a newer version of java and everything single possible solution on internet, but still no luck.
Same problem was faced by me too..This is a problem related to https sites and this is all due to the network issues so it is better to upgrade the java version and explorers..
Do you use a wireless router. This has happened to me a couple of times in the past and re-booting the router has fixed the problem.
Try opening it in a new browser window, and use both Internet Explorer, and Google Chrome. See what happens from there =)
https works on secure port 443 This port must be open on your local machine / in your local network and at your ISP otherwise you can not access web sites at secure port https:// If you have any anti virus or firewall active on your machine then disable it and try to access web site once again as some anti virus may also block it. You may need to add exception in anti virus / firewall. As other few web sites are working then that means port 443 is enabled for you. And its the issue specific to that web site only. 1] In this case make sure there is no any IP is blocked on web site, which you can check at Site > Properties > Directory Security > Edit 2] Make sure bindings of IPs on web site is correct 3] Make sure bindings of port 443 in IIS on web site is correct 4] Make sure whether IE security is blocking it or not 5] You can add the site with https:// in trusted site list of IE
