Hi there I hope you can help me out. When I tried to log into my Facebook account this morning it opened up the page showing my two accounts. I clicked on my main account but instead of opening it brought up another window as shown in the photo 1. I clicked on the address for that account and it brought up another window in photo 2. When I click on Log In it says, The password that you've entered is incorrect. Forgotten password? I know the password isn't incorrect as I copy and pasted it from a list. I then tried to change my password and had the code sent to my phone. I then get another message saying there was a problem and to try again later. How can I get this sorted out. I'm 69 and rely on Facebook to keep in touch with friends and family. Not even sure I'm in the right forum! Alex Tyrrell
Hi Alex This problem has been faced by many users after Facebook changed its name to Meta and made many changes to it. When you try to log in to your profile, be double sure you are entering the right password to open it. Select the profile you want to log in and when you copy and paste the password click on the box show password and check if there is any unnecessary space between the character or letter you've entered or pasted into the password field. Hope it works, if not then click on the forgot password and if it switches you to a different profile, manually enter your email address or username to reset the password. Reset the password with the system that you often use to open your account.
Thanks for that. For some reason when I tried again to reset my password last night it worked and everything was back to normal. I wasn't doing anything different to what I had been doing during the day but this time it just worked. Strange.
