I have a blog that has been online for about 3 months. It has a ton of content (over 100 post), a Alexa ranking of 1,200,000 and getting lower by the week and over 500+ backlinks. I also have the SEO plug for wordpress. Everything looks in order I am not sure what I need to do to get to page rank 1. I know page rank isn't the end all be all but I would like to one day see it at one. Any ideas? Also does anyone know the schedule or how often Google updates page rank. Thanks in Advance Guys
If you want a more up to date estimate of your pagerank, sign up for Google's webmaster tools. Then when you have an account, go to "Statistics" then "Crawl Status" to get a general PR distribution for your domain and a general idea of how popular the site is with the search spiders. The data there is updated much more frequently, but the info is also less specific about individual pages then toolbar PR.
Yep. Toolbar page rank isn't your actual, current page rank. The actual value changes every day. Google "exports" the value to the tool bar every once in a while, sometimes not for months. The crawl status korr mentions won't spell out your actual page rank, but shows you what percentage are "not ranked", low (PR0-4), medium (pr5-pr7), and high (pr8+).
Make sure the backlinks that you have are of some value, otherwise you won't get any PR juice and will be stuck at PR zero.
I would wait at least a whole year to see some real progress unless you have some real unique content going to expect any huge results. However, the more work you put in the higher your pr will be next update.
Yes just be patient. Continue posting and link building. Don't stress on the PR. There's a speculation that there will be a PR update anytime soon. It will come when you least expect it.
You’re righ Pinayjade. I like your this sentence, ‘It will come when you least expect it’. Well said . I remember a joke: A 14 yrs old boy came to his father and said, "dad, I want to get married!" Father: Of course you will my son, but not now. Son: When dad? Father: When you’ll no longer desire to get married.
Some people get lucky, some don't. My tip is to find some dofollow blogs with the 'Top Commenters' plugin and make a few comments on those blogs every month. Hence you get a backlink from every page on the site. Alternatively, just find a reasonably high pagerank dofollow blog and use http://www.seocompany.ca/tool/internal-page-rank.php to find high PR pages to comment on (not spamming, honest!)
Just give it time, my first blog requires two major updates to attain a ranking. There's nothing to worry about if you continue to improve and update your blog.
Dont be too worry about that, keep on build link and provide quality content. You will get the PR on next update
Continue to build links for the site from a related site and write unique content for the site. The site will be rank one day. Google Update PR 3 to 4 times in a year. Good luck
No offense, but if you're referring to any of the 2 bottom siggy links you have then you deserve a PR -13 (that would be negative 13). You really think people will fall for that? A snapshot of those pages should be next to the term "low quality website" in the Google dictionary. Get rid of that pop-up crap and maybe people will read your content. I'm sure you bounce rate is very high.
